Mysterious death: Man dumps wife’s corpse in morgue, disappears

A man dumped his wife’s body in a morgue, shortly after he was alleged to have murdered her last Wednesday, before disappearing to an unknown destination.

The incident took place in in Ikare-Akoko, Akoko North-East Local Government area of Ondo State

The man, whose identity has yet to be confirmed, reportedly fled after allegedly killing his wife, Mrs Christianah Kutelu, who was a staff member of a special needs school.

According to sources, Christianah, 51, died under circumstances suspected to be linked to domestic violence.

Her family members reported the case to the police, following their suspicion of the husband’s involvement in the woman’s death.

The spokesperson for the Ondo State Police Command, DSP Jimoh Abayomi, confirmed the story, saying, “the Ondo State Police Command has commenced an investigation into a suspected murder case reported at the Ikare Division, involving the death of Mrs Christianah Kutelu, aged 51.

“The case was reported by a family member who alleged that the deceased’s husband might have been involved in acts of domestic violence leading to her death,” he said.

Abayomi said the husband was currently at large, with efforts ongoing to locate and apprehend him.

“The corpse has been deposited in the hospital morgue for an autopsy to ascertain the cause of death,” while the command assured the public that the matter would be thorough.
