Oriire abduction: Makinde receives Commission of Enquiry report

The Judicial Commission of Inquiry set up by the Oyo State Government to investigate the abduction of students and teachers at Esinele and Yawota communities in Oriire Local Government Area submitted its report to Governor Seyi Makinde on Tuesday.

According to a statement issued earlier on Tuesday by the Commissioner for Information, Prince Dotun Oyelade, the commission’s report would be formally received by the Oyo State governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, at the Executive Council Chamber, Governor’s Office, Secretariat, Agodi, Ibadan.

The event was later held at 12 noon at the venue, with top government officials, security chiefs, religious leaders, labour representatives and other stakeholders in attendance.

The event was held as a short ceremony.

Prince Oyelade had recalled that Governor Makinde inaugurated the Judicial Commission of Inquiry on July 31, with a mandate to investigate and uncover the circumstances surrounding the abduction of the students and teachers.

The Judicial Commission was constituted following the May 15 abduction incident.
