Excitement as The Fiditi Club hits 50

The Fiditi Club, a foremost club in Fiditi Town, under the Afijio LG, in Oyo State, held its 50th anniversary celebrations on  Saturday 27th December, 2025.

Founded in March 1975 by a group of elites and creme de lar creme in the town, whose influence and spheres; political and professional spanned far and across Nigeria and beyond.

Whereas most the members who founded the club have departed to the world beyond, we still have some of the foundation members, and a crop of younger generation members who were drafted into membership of the club by the influence of their fathers’ membership, a move that would ensure the continuity of the club, and to inject more vigour and passion which the younger generation of members would offer.

Highlights of the day event were: Celebrating the Founding Fathers who were still alive and present; A moment of silence for the Founding Fathers who have gone to the world beyond; Fund raising to make improvements to the Club House and the expansion club site.

The Club House is a legacy that has been bequeathed to the Club by the Founding Fathers and the project was envisioned to accommodate the following structures:

▪︎Games Arena

▪︎Lawn Tennis Court

▪︎Swimming Pool

▪︎Water Treatment Plant

In his remarks, the President of the club who belongs to the younger generation of members, Alh.  Ademola Wasiu Alli, said the “vision of our Founding Fathers is worthy of celebration and the anniversary is purposely organised for such.”
