Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, on Wednesday, boasted that the National Assembly is 2000 percent behind President Bola Tinubu and his administration.

He made this known on Wednesday during the opening of major projects in Lagos, including the Ojota-Opebi link bridge, the E-GIS system, and the Alausa complex.

Akpabio, who stood in for the president at the event, praised Tinubu’s leadership and described him as a focused leader with a clear purpose.

Speaking at the ceremony, he said: “Tinubu is not just a visioner or a man on a mission, he is a man that is out to fulfill his purpose on earth for this country and in doing so we are very proud of him in the National Assembly.”

He further stressed the level of support the lawmakers have for the president, adding, “We are 2000 percent behind him and we will make sure that your son returns a hero after he has delivered the dividends of democracy to Nigeria.”

Akpabio also explained why he attended the event, despite having another important engagement abroad.

He explained: “I was meant to present a speech before the crowned prince of Morroco this night but I’m being represented. When Mr President called me and said you must represent me, I had to cancel that engagement and I came here.”
