She is beauty and brain, coupled with her creative mind set which makes her one of the most sought after new generation actors.
Her name, Sarian Martin Oruene, a former beauty queen who decided to pursue her passion which is acting. It was a dream come true for this enterprising young woman when she got her first professional job in Nollywood. A passion that started manifesting right from her secondary school days.
Her journey into acting started in her secondary school days where she featured in series of school productions, and even in church drama productions
But she hit it big after she came to Lagos following her graduation from the Niger Delta University, where studied Fine Art.
She joined the movie industry in 2019 but had her first major break in 2021, when she played the role of Amaka in the movie “Freda”, an Africa Magic, original love drama about a wealthy blogger who does everything to control her relationship and make sure her man doesn’t earn more than her.
So far, the beautiful actress has over 50 movies to her credit and have featured in both English and other genres of movies.
Sarian Martin’s life seems to have been tailored for success, growing up among other siblings especially boys where she learnt a little bit of martial arts just for self defence. According to the actress, their father learnt taekwondo skills in Bulgaria and he made it compulsory for all his children to learn the art of self defence.
Sarian’s mother did not want her daughter to develop that masculine attributes, so she suggested that Sarian should get involved in modelling to balance up, which saw her getting involved beauty pageant in her first year in the Niger Delta University. Incidentally, first year students were not allowed to contest but she did and eventually won
” In my first year, I entered a pageant, and even though they said year-one students never won, I did. That gave me confidence. Seeing my face on a billboard uplifted my self-esteem and made me feel like, God had something bigger planned for me. Those pageants became stepping stones”
So, aside from acting; she still had her hands in other pies like a beauty salon and spa. She is also into interiors, sand supply and humanitarian services. In addition, she is also an event MC and host too, as well as a hotelier.
Her being featured in romantic movies us not a coincidence because she is one person that loves to love. Sarian admits that she is a lover girl, who appreciates a family. Her desire is to have lots of children, as many as seven and she wants to give her children lots of love more than what her mother gave her
“Absolutely. I want lots of children, as many as seven. My mum calls me her “only eyes” because I stayed in her womb for 10 months. I want to give my kids even more than she gave me. After all the hustle, family is everything.
So, what qualities does she want in her dream man. Her dream man must be God fearing, tall and dark in complexion.
“I am a lover girl, so I want a God-fearing man; someone who can pray for our children like my dad prayed for me. But I want someone who chooses only me; unlike my dad, who was polygamous. My spec? Dark-skinned. No matter how fine you are, if you’re light-skinned, it’s straight to the brother zone”, she noted
