2027: Thousands converge on Benin for inauguration of Obi/Kwankwaso (OK) Movement amid downpour

Despite heavy downpour at the weekend in Benin, thousands of residents trooped to the Bishop Kelly, Airport Road venue of the Inauguration of Obi/Kwankwaso(OK) Movement within the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in readiness for the fast-approaching 2027 elections.

 

In a welcome address by the state coordinator of the movement, Comrade Jatto Peter Eromosele, he thanked party supporters for the massive turnout for Inauguration of Obi/Kwankwaso movement, saying, ” we need to come together to win the 2027 general elections”.

 

Also speaking at the well-attended political event, the Director General, Hon. John Uhgulu, though represented stated very clearly that the movement consists of people from all walks of life determined to rescue Nigerians from poverty and rising insecurity in the country. His words:”alot of people are here because of future of Nigeria. Those leading us do not care. Nigeria is not Ok because there is so much hunger, insecurity and poverty.

 

“This is a movement where everybody is sacrificing to make Nigeria work. We should all work together to ensure Nigerians are OK.

In an address the South-South Zonal coordinator of the Obi/ Kwankwaso Movement, Ambassador Christopher Ighodalo informed excited NDC party supporters that of the six states in the region, the movement had been successfully inaugurated in four states, including Akwa Ibom, Rivers, Bayelsa and Edo. According to him, “this is the 4th state ( Edo) we are inaugurating. We started with Akwa Ibom, Rivers and Bayelsa. We all have to make Ok movement a big force. We have to sacrifice.

“In the movement of building party structures in the South South region, we have four over six. We will soon inaugurate the other two (Cross Rivers and Delta). We have gotten all the structures, including Abuja because we have been working together. We are moving forward and we are determined to rescue Nigerians from hunger, poverty and rising insecurity”, Ighodalo posited.

 

The highpoint of the political event was the formal Inauguration of Obi/Kwankwaso Movement in Edo State and it was carried out by the Zonal Coordinator, Ighodalo and party chieftains including Senator Roland Owie, Hon.Sunday Aguebor (Bibi) and other party candidates.
