2027 Presidential Election: Ogun ADP adopts Muhammad Omolaja-Obe

The Ogun State chapter of the Action Democratic Party (ADP) in their State Executive Committee (State EXCO) meeting on Saturday, January 24, 2026 adopted Prof. Muhammad Omolaja Obe as their presidential candidate ahead of the forthcoming 2027 presidential election. The document, in the form of a letter and profile, was submitted by Prof. Muhammad Omolaja-Obe who is a Prince from the Obe Royal family of Ayetoro City, Yewa North Local Government Area of Ogun State.

Prof. (Alhaji, Prince, Ikemba) Muhammad Temilade Ugochinyere Ayinla Omolaja-Obe has been in active politics for many years. However, he started contesting for elective positions in 2007, when he aspired to contest for Senate under the defunct All Nigerians Peoples Party (ANPP) but eventually, he contested for the same Senate under the platform of the defunct Democratic Peoples’ Alliance (DPA). In 2011 and 2011 respectively, Prof. Muhammad Omolaja aspired to contest for Federal House of Representatives under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and he also aspired to contest for the governorship of Ogun State under the platform of the All Progressive Congress (ADP). However, Prof. Omolaja aspired to contest for presidency under the platform of the Action Democratic Party (ADP) in 2023 and since then, he has been within the corridor of politics romancing with the leadership of the party not only in the state but also at the national level.

Prof. Muhammad Omolaja, the Ikemba 1 of Africa, is a strong member of the Yoruba Council of Elders (YCE) and President of the Yoruba Elders Union (YEW). He is a strong academician cum politician who never gets tired of contribution to democratic process and national development through politics and corporate governance. He is one of the most detribalised patriotic Nigerians who has extraordinary and unconditional love for nation-building and national development. In his words, “We just have to liberate Nigeria and rescue ourselves in 2027.”

Prof. Muhammad Omolaja is a very popular political figure in all the 36 states of Nigeria and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) of Abuja because of the operations and influence of his political group; that is, the National Liberation Patriots (NLP) family of which he is the founder and the National Chairman.

Prof. Muhammad Omolaja used the occasion of his adoption  to highlight his 10-point agenda if elected as the next President of Nigeria as follows: “To provide good governance including public service re-engineering leading to public service repositioned for efficient and effective service.

“To provide effective management of the economy through poverty eradication, generation of employment, and increased internal revenue generation,

“To provide women, youth & physically challenged empowerment.

“To provide Agricultural and industrial reforms including national food and nutrition security, industrialization including oil and gas industry, agro-allied industries leading to employment and poverty eradication.

To provide social amenities including provision of quality and affordable education, access to primary health care, senior citizens and youth welfare as well as effective management of sports, culture and tourism.

“To provide effective Environmental management.

“To provide infrastructure including adequate power Supply. water/sanitation and waste management, transportation, affordable housing, new towns satellite development, as well as urban and rural development.

“To provide security of life and property including primary crime prevention, law enforcement, and judicial process reforms.

To provide sustainable pragmatic innovations, economic regeneration platforms, industrialization, entrepreneurship, with due consideration and premium for education, scientific and technological advancements.

“To foster unity and brotherhood among the great people of Nigeria irrespective of our differences in diversity in terms of religions, ethnicity, and place of birth.

After a thorough consideration of the letter and its accompanying profile, the Ogun State exco of the party (ADP) unanimously passed a vote of confidence on Prof. Muhammad Omolaja.
