Burglary at Corpers Lodge: Police arrest 2 in C’River

The Cross River State Police Command has arrested two suspects in connection with a burglary and stealing incident at a corps members’ lodge in Ntamkpo community, Yakurr Local Government Area of the state.
The situation report from the Yakurr Divisional Police Headquarters, indicates that the incident occurred on January 30, 2025, at the Nigerian Christian Corpers Fellowship (NCCF) lodge, Ntamkpo.
According to the Command’s Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Eitokpah Sunday who confirmed the incident, two corps members, Oladele Mathew and Afolabi Okikiola, reported that unknown persons broke into their rooms through the back door while they were away for morning devotion.
Items reportedly stolen include three HP laptops and one Dell laptop valued at ₦410,000, five power banks valued at ₦76,000, two ear pods valued at ₦10,000, one iTel P33+ mobile phone valued at ₦80,000, two school bags containing credentials and other valuables, as well as the sum of ₦15,000 cash.
The complainants identified one Otu Omini Otu, aged 40, who was brought to the station by the Officer Commanding Military from 246 Barracks, Ikom, and attached to Ugep, in connection with the alleged offence.
The suspect was described as an habitual criminal recently released from Obubra Prison.
Following the report, police detectives visited the scene and engaged community chiefs and youth leaders.
Subsequently, on February 7, 2026, another suspect, Isaiah Dennis Okoi, aged 29, was arrested with the assistance of a community chief, Sampson Okoi Ikpi.
