How foamy bras saved me from body-shamers – Janemena

Tiktok dancer and social media influencer -Janemena, has spoken about how she was body shamed in secondary school because she didn’t have a grown breast like other girls.
According to the TikToker, her flat chest earned her the nickname ‘plywood’ and to make matters worse, her crush was in the same class with her. So, to avoid this continuous embarrassment she had to buy a foamy bra that will push out her little breast.
Janemena wrote:
“In secondary school, I was nicknamed “Plywood” because of my flat chest. Almost every girl in my class had fuller breasts except me, and as a teenager with a crush in the same class, you can imagine how embarrassing that felt”.
The social media influencer recalled that she wore padded bras for years and had a favourite bra which is sky blue in colour. Her mother supported her by frequently buying padded bra for her at Onitsha market in Anambra state.
She continues
“At one point, I even bought a strong foamy bra from the market in Irri, Delta State, just so I could feel like I fit in. I wore padded bras for years and even had a favorite sky-blue one I kept repairing whenever it tore. My mum would also buy me the most padded bra sets from Onitsha, and I’d be so happy.
“But in 2011, I woke up one day, burnt all my bras, and decided to embrace my body exactly the way it is. Even when people mocked my chest online, I never once considered surgery.
“That decision later saved me in 2022 when fake nude pictures and videos were circulated with my name attached. Instead of believing it, many people defended me because they knew I had always been comfortable with my natural body.
“Today, I still have one or two insecurities, but my chest will never be one of them again.
“Ladies, if you ever decide to change something about your body, let it be for YOU, not for a man, a woman, or society”, she advised.
