The organisers of Nigeria’s longest-running male pageant, Mr Ideal Nigeria, have officially announced that the grand finale of its 17th edition will be held at the prestigious Oriental Hotel in Lagos. Scheduled for Saturday, May 2nd, 2026, the event marks a significant milestone for the franchise as it continues its mission to identify and empower men who embody the core pillars of “Brain, Body, and Business.”

This year, the competition has been narrowed down to 20 finalists from across the federation. These individuals were selected not only for their physical fitness but for their intellectual drive and entrepreneurial spirit. The finalists will take the stage in what is being billed as the most anticipated male pageant in Nigeria, competing for the chance to succeed the reigning champion, Shammah Obadan, and secure a spot representing Nigeria at the Mister Africa International competition in London.

The announcement comes amidst a wave of international success for the “House of Twitch” brand, the parent organization behind the pageant. Adding to the momentum, Augustine Umaja, the first runner-up of Mister Africa International, continues to solidify the platform’s influence within the global fashion industry. In a major career milestone, Umaja was recently featured on the covers of both Four Wall Magazine and Lumiere Magazine (LUMIN8) for their February and March 2026 issues, highlighting the high-profile media presence afforded to the pageant’s top contenders.

Beyond the runway, the Mr Ideal Nigeria platform is renowned for its “Business Icon Challenge,” where contestants pitch viable business ideas to a panel of seasoned industry leaders. This unique focus ensures that the winner leaves with more than just a title; they gain access to scholarships at the Royal Arts Academy, international modeling contracts, and mentorship to kickstart professional careers in acting, business, and commerce.

As the May 2nd date approaches, the organizers have urged fans and stakeholders to be on a red alert for a night that promises to blend luxury, fashion, and talent. With the move to the Oriental Hotel, the 17th edition is set to raise the bar for male pageantry in Africa, reinforcing its reputation as a premier launchpad for the next generation of Nigerian icons.
