Police in Ondo arrest 3 members of violent interstate robbery gang

The Ondo State Police Command acting on intelligence arrested three suspects linked to a notorious interstate armed robbery syndicate believed to have carried out several violent robberies across Ondo and Lagos states.
The State Commissioner of Police, Mr Felix Ohagwu, gave this information while parading the suspects at the force Headquarters in Akure, the capital of Ondo State.
The suspects, Promise Daniel (aged 34), Ifeanyi Umahi (29) and Adaramoye Abayomi (37), were caught following a painstaking intelligence-led operations by men of the state Command, after they had carried out armed robbery operations around Iju/ Ita-Ogbolu in Akure North Local Government Area.
The suspects were intercepted while travelling in a Mercedes-Benz ML350, which led to the recovery of one AK-47 rifle; one magazine loaded with eighteen rounds of live ammunition; one English-made pistol loaded with four (4) rounds of live ammunition; one UTC axe; charms and one iron cutter.
According to the police, the suspects had made confessional statements that were helping investigators track other fleeing members of the gang.
