Pastor Enoch Adeboye, General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, today, reportedly said God told him the release of the kidnapped Oyo State schoolchildren and their teachers would be “dramatic.”

This isn’t the first time he’s said “God told me.” Those claims usually go unchallenged. They trend for a moment, then fade

But let’s be honest: the release of any hostage is, by nature, dramatic. Families in anguish don’t need vague prophecies. They need presence and practical help.

At 84, with the influence of a mega church, one would expect more. How many prayer vigils has he led for these families? How many visits to Oyo to offer financial or mental health support? If God truly spoke, why wasn’t the first instruction to go comfort the victims’ families directly?

Why make this announcement in Washington, D.C., instead of delivering hope face-to-face to the people living the nightmare? These families deserve dignity, respect, and tangible support — not pronouncements from a distance.

If God spoke to you, why didn’t He send you to Oyo with financial help and trauma support? Why announce it in Washington, D.C., instead of to the families themselves?

Baba, at 84, perhaps it’s time to reflect and act differently.
