Mercy Babajide, the reigning Exquisite Queen Nigeria World and Miss Aura Nigeria 2025, has once again made Nigeria proud on the global stage as she emerges the newly crowned Miss Aura International Peace Ambassador 2025. Her journey from the heart of Ekiti State to the international limelight in Antalya, Turkey, is nothing short of inspirational, a powerful reminder of what it means to dare, to dream, and to achieve.
A skilled and versatile journalist with a passion for storytelling, Mercy has carved a unique niche for herself in the world of media. With a degree in Political Science from Redeemer’s University of Nigeria (RUN), a Postgraduate Diploma in Journalism from the International Institute of Journalism (IIJ), and multiple professional certifications in Business Development, she has combined academic excellence with practical expertise.
Mercy is also a dynamic newscaster and sought-after corporate MC, admired for her intelligence, eloquence, and magnetic presence. Beyond her media career, she is a passionate advocate for gender equality in Nigeria. Her platform, aligned with SDG 5 – Advancing Gender Equality in Nigeria, focuses on empowering women and girls, eliminating discrimination, and ensuring inclusiveness across all sectors. Her advocacy work is a beacon of hope for a more just and equitable society.
Her pageant journey began with a triumphant win at the 10th Exquisite Queen Nigeria World Pageant held on March 30, 2025, where she also earned the title of Miss Aura Nigeria 2025. Representing Ekiti State with grace and excellence, Mercy stood out in a highly competitive field of delegates from across the country.
Despite facing visa challenges and a limited preparation period before the international competition, Mercy arrived in Antalya with resilience, poise, and a commitment to make her mark. Her brilliance shone through, earning her a spot in the Top 12 Intelligence Round and Top 10 Best National Costume at Miss Aura International 2025. On May 23, she proudly advanced into the Top 20 Finalists, continuing Nigeria’s impressive placement streak at the prestigious event.
In recognition of her outstanding diplomacy, leadership, cultural intelligence, dedication and hardwork, the Miss Aura International Organization crowned her as Miss Aura Peace Ambassador 2025. In this new role, Mercy will spearhead peace-focused initiatives, promote cultural understanding, and support humanitarian causes globally, serving as a global advocate under the Miss Aura banner.
