It was double tragedy as a son identified as Musa has reportedly killed her mother over N40 million inheritance. According to reports shared in Kaduna on Friday, family sources alleged that the mother was beaten to death by the son.

An eyewitness account source also said that the sad incident occurred on Monday night when the boy killed his mother and hid her dead body inside their apartment in Abuja.

Investigation revealed that the deceased had persistently told the mother to give him the money to travel to Canada and do business but the mother refused on the grounds that he was too young and inexperienced to handle such an amount.

“He consistently lamented that country was dampening his spirit and optimism about life and urgently needed to escape to Canada and begin a new life, especially with the dwindling fortunes of Nigeria, where naira has been facing regular depreciation”, the source divulged.

Our correspondent gathered that the DSS has since arrested the boy and that the “Jana’izah” prayers was held on the woman’s remains on Thursday, 16th, April, 2026, at the National Mosque, Abuja.

All efforts to get the people to speaks further on father’s family lineage, to buttress the source of inheritance met a brick wall.
