The House of Representatives aspirant of Taraba State chapter of All Progressives Congress (APC) for 2027 polls, Hon. Abdulkarim Bako has pledged to invest in the education of the youths from his federal constituency if given the mandate to serve.
Hon. Bako, who described education as the bedrock of every society said he’s currently aspiring for the seat of Ardo Kola, Lau and Karim Lamido Federal constituency of Taraba State.
He said, over the years, the people from his federal constituency have been neglected, denied of academics and left behind academically.
“Ardo Kola, to be candid with you has no Lawyers, Medical Doctors, among other professional careers that we can be proud of and say, they are our sons and daughters.
The reason behind this is lack of sponsorship of scholarship awards to our intelligent youths in their educational pursuits. I want to contest so that I can sponsor some of our youths who have the requisite qualifications to go to universities or other tertiary institutions, to help them achieve their dreams”,
“The three local governments of Ardo Kola, Lau and Karim Lamido that make up the federal constituency will experience massive education of their Wards and children under my representation”,
Hon. Bako further lauded the education policy of the State Governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas. He said, “the governor played a vital role towards ensuring that Taraba primary and secondary school children go to school free while those at the tertiary institutions have their tuition fees slashed to 50%”,
“Education is my priority, I want to complement the efforts of Governor Kefas through sponsorship and award of scholarship to our children from the local level”, he said.
On why he’s contesting under the platform of APC, Hon. Bako told Reporters that his vision and mission was not to run different programmes from Dr. Kefas who he stated, has the people of the State at heart. The governor left PDP to APC to attract Federal presence to state.
“Joining the Federal Government will help us have a similar government, from the federal, state, down to the local government”,
“Lau and Karim Lamido are part of the most backward local government areas in the State. This is due to poor road network in these areas. There are a lot of mineral resources found in these localities. The land found in these areas a very fertile that people can engage in assorted types agriculture”, he added.
