Taraba 2027: Manu pledges to bring national grid to Gashaka/Sardauna

The incumbent Senator representing Taraba Central at the National Assembly, who doubles as the immediate past and/or former deputy governor of the State, His Excellency, Haruna Manu has pledged to connect two local governments of Gashaka and Sardauna to the national grid if re-elected in 2027.
The Daily Monitor Correspondent reports that Gashaka and Sardauna are two among the five LGAs found in the central district of the State. Others are; Kurmi, Bali and Gassol, the local government of Senator Haruna Manu.
Distinguished Senator Manu stated this during an interview with journalists shortly after he visited his people on affirmation of his re-election, at Mutum biyu, the administrative headquarters of Gassol local government area of the State.
Hon. Manu said, when he got to the National Assembly in 2023, he told Journalists during an interface that central Taraba was the only senatorial district in the country that has not been connected to the national grid.
Describing same as his first project, Senator Manu said he started in earnest, connecting Kurmi LGA through Mararraba town of Bali LGA to Baissa, headquarters of Kurmi “and the project is 80% completion. Bali project is an upgrade and it’s at 70% completion”,
“So by the special grace of God, for 2027, Sardauna and Gashaka LGAs will be my area of focus and concentration”, he assured.
Speaking further, Senator Manu told Reporters that at the floor of the National Assembly, he has sponsored several bills and two among them were a Bill for the establishment of the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Gembu, headquarters of Sardauna LGA. He added that the Bill has been passed into law by the lawmakers, waiting for Mr President’s final approval.

He maintained that, if he comes back in 2027, he will consolidate on what he has already done, the gains he has made so far, consolidate on them and improve on them also.
The mammoth crowd of both women and youths that welcomed him at Mutum biyu, headquarters of Gassol LGA of the State, Manu described same as an indication that the people are strongly behind him, stressing that they will massively vote for him come 2027 general elections.
“You can see the way the youths and women came out in their thousands, in solidarity, this goes to show that in 2027, victory is sure”, he said.
Expressing optimism that the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary elections in Taraba would be one among the best across Nigeria, Manu lauded the sportsmanship of the former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Babangida Nguroje who he said, was his major contestant who later, decided to withdraw from the race.
He also thanked the people of the zone for believing in him and affirming his re-election and return to red chambers of the National Assembly to represent them. Senator Manu in another development, applauded Governor Agbu Kefas who he opined, set up a committee of elders that made people to willingly and voluntarily step down for others.
“About 80% of the contestants from the Senate to the House of Assembly have withdrawn. So we know that the primary elections of APC in Taraba is going to be one of the best”,
“Taraba is APC because of the way and manner the Governor has been handing the affairs of the State. I know that we will deliver APC from the Presidency to the State House of Assembly. 2027, it’s going to be APC”, he added.
