Grammy winner, Tems ruffles feathers with ‘engagement hint’

Nigerian international and Grammy award winning singer Temilade Openiyi, professionally known as Tems, recently got the internet buzzing after she announced that she has “left the streets”, which if interpreted in local parlance means, that she is engaged to be married or she is no longer searching for husband.

The afrobeat star made this revelation on a TikTok live streaming session, though she did not give more details about the lucky man. The singer said, she was “living the streets” because she is tired of waiting for men, who are wasting her time.

Tems said: “I don’t like it when guys waste my time. But for me, never again. I don’t have that problem anymore. I have left the streets; I wouldn’t even say I was ever on the streets,” she said.

In a couple of previous interviews Tems granted earlier, the singer had lamented that men who show interest in her do so for ulterior motives. The beautiful singer said, she would prefer someone who is more serious and has a deeper connection with her.
