Taraba: Philanthropist pledges to honour late media icon, Adaji

A Taraba State born philanthropist, politician and successful business man, Chief David Sabo Kente has pledged to honour the late veteran Journalist, Chief Ben Adaji with University Endowment Funds, using two State owned Universities, the Federal University Wukari and the State University, Jalingo.
He further added that funds would be provided in Faculties of Mass Communication of the two government owned universities.
The Daily Monitor Correspondent reports that Chief Kente made the pledge while during the funeral service of late Adaji held Thursday at the deceased home town in Imani, Olomaboro local government area of Kogi state.
Chief Kente who said the EEF funds were to immortalize the late Adaji, emphasized that funds would be provided yearly to support students of Mass Communication in the two Government owned universities.
He also promised to support the family of Adaji to ensure that life was not difficult to them.
Also speaking, the Taraba State Governor, Dr Agbu Kefas encouraged the family and the entire people of Imani to take solace in God who according him gives and takes life.
Dr. Kefas who was represented by Mr Gabriel Yough, Chairman of the Correspondents’ Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Taraba State Council said Taraba has lost a pilar of media practice in the State.
The Governor further prayed for God to grant his soul eternal rest and give his family, and associates the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
Late chief Adaji was the pioneer chairman of the Correspondents’ chapel of NUJ, Taraba State Council, the then State Correspondent of the The News Magazine a good associate of Chief David Sabo Kente.
Until his death, Chief Adaji was working with Aljeezera Global News. He died as a practicing journalist, a profession he has devoted his time to in the past thirty (30) years.
