Tiwa Savage: How are Nigerian artistes funding their luxurious lifestyle?

Nigerian music star Tiwa Savage has sparked reactions online after jokingly questioning her fellow entertainers over the huge amount of money they appear to be spending on luxury cars, expensive jewellery and private jets.

The Afrobeat singer, who has been in the music industry for more than a decade, took to social media to express her curiosity about where exactly her colleagues are getting all the money they seem to be splashing on luxury things.

In her words: “I must also partake in this money you people are spending on cars, chains, planes. Pls, where are they sharing this money because wetin happen na, I don dey sing this Afrobeat for over a decade now oo.”

Tiwa’s comment, delivered in her usual playful manner, has amused many fans, with some joking that she has apparently realised she may have been missing out on a secret “Afrobeats money” distribution.

Having spent years at the top of the Nigerian music scene and built an impressive career both locally and internationally, the singer’s humorous complaint has generated plenty of conversation among fans.
