Veteran Fuji musician, Yisau Ayinde Abiola, popularly known as Baba Melody, has described Fuji music as a melodious genre that has remained close to his heart throughout his career.

Speaking during a recent interview, the renowned artiste revealed that he did not receive formal vocal training from anyone but naturally embraced the popular high-energy Fuji music style, which eventually shaped his musical journey.

Ayinde explained that he earned another nickname “Atiba” because of his close relationship with the late Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Atanda Adeyemi III.

The Fuji maestro, who has released several albums over the years, disclosed that he is set to celebrate 45 years on stage in July, marking a significant milestone in his music career.

Reflecting on his journey, Ayinde recounted overcoming numerous challenges, including losing his voice at a point and surviving several road accidents while travelling for performances. He noted that despite these setbacks, he was able to recover and continue his career, especially after undertaking a visit to Saudi Arabia.

He also expressed appreciation to fellow Fuji artistes, Ayinde Merenge and Sefiu Alao, for their unwavering support and encouragement throughout his career.
