Excitement is building across Ijesaland as the prestigious Ijesha Sports Club finalizes arrangements for its much-anticipated Investiture and Awards Ceremony slated for Saturday, July 4, 2026, an event poised to become one of the most memorable milestones in the club’s illustrious history.

The grand occasion will witness the formal installation of the Owa Obokun of Ijesaland, Owa Clement Adesuyi Haastrup, as the Grand Patron of the club, while newly elected executives led by now President, Otunba Jare Ayo Martins, will officially assume office.

In a statement released by Prince Wale Oyekanmi, who also serves as Secretary of the Investiture Planning Committee, the club disclosed that the ceremony will be chaired by retired Brigadier General Bashir Abiodun Adewinbi.

The event is expected to draw an impressive gathering of royal fathers, patrons, trustees, club members from across Nigeria and the diaspora, captains of industry, community leaders, and other distinguished personalities who share a commitment to the advancement of Ijesaland.

Beyond the investiture, the ceremony will serve as a celebration of Ijesa culture, unity, visionary leadership, and outstanding service to humanity.

It will also provide a platform to recognize eminent individuals and organizations whose contributions have significantly impacted the development and progress of Ijesaland.

Among the distinguished award recipients are Senator Francis Adenigba Fadahunsi, Najeem Folasayo Salam, Timothy Owoeye, Hon. Alaba Popoola, Hon. Fausat Sarumi Adebanjo, Rest Park Gardens, Chief Mrs. Folake Idowu Korede, and the late Hon. Idowu Korede, who will be honoured posthumously for his enduring legacy.

Other honourees include Mr. S.A. Adewumi, the Oba Festus Kayode Awogboro, the Oba Hezekiah Adeniyi Owolola, and Chief Mrs. Toyin Nwanze.
